Before we start mailing the newsletter, we have just sent you a confirmation e-mail, in which you need to confirm your subscription of the newsletter. If you don’t click on the confirmation link in that e-mail, we sadly couldn’t send you our newsletter.
The legal basis for the storage is your consent in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 (a) GDPR, which you have given to us when you registered for the newsletter. You have the right to revoke this consent at any time. You just need to contact us without any particular formal requirement, for example through our contact form, an e-mail to the e-mail address indicated in the “About Us” section, and in each newsletter mail, there will be a link to unsubscribe. Your withdrawal has no effect on the legality of the data processing carried out up to that point. As part of the registration process, we store the time of your registration and of the confirmation as well as your IP address, because we are obligated to keep records of the signing-up to the newsletter. We use a US-American newsletter provider, which means that your data will be exported to the USA. With your consent, you therefore also declare your approval to your data being transferred to the USA, although the European Court of Justice has just held that they do not have a level of data protection that would be similar to the one in the EU and the effectiveness of the new Privacy Shield agreement is also disputed. But we have made sure that our newsletter provider has made a further commitment to data protection. You will find further information on that and generally on our use of your data in our Privacy Policy.
